Christian Poker?

How good is God's sense of humor?

An advertisement depicting Jesus and the Apostles gambling at the Last Supper in an ad by Irish bookmaker Paddy Power September 30, 2005. Paddy Power on Friday was fending off the wrath of Christians in overwhelmingly Roman Catholic Ireland where the billboard posters, adapting Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting of the event to show Jesus with a stack of poker chips, Judas with 30 pieces of silver and other apostles clutching hands of cards, are on display.

So what sin is gambling under? It isn't a great idea, but that doesn't make it a sin.

i'm not trying to indicate that gambling is a sin or not by this post...

i'm just wondering aloud where the line is to be drawn when talking about humor & honor, i.e. honoring God vs. making fun...

i mean, i'm a friend of God, but where does it cross into a place that belittles Him w/what i'm trying to do or say...

this is something very hard for me, 'cause i've got the tendency to go overboard w/trying to be funny at times...

i say & do things at times that some may be offended by, while those really close to me are fine w/it & understand it...

does this make sense?

on another note, i don't gamble or like it much & think that you can do it w/out sin, but think that most can't...

it just seems to open the door to a lot of junk that most can't resist & get in trouble with...
